All about Sidetrack I....
|
The Sidetrack I is a professionally designed West Coast troller, originally built in 1963 in the Songhees at Victoria. She endured many tough years in a tough industry. A few years ago, when she was about to be retired, Ron Mallon saw in her some great potential. He set to work carefully refinishing, restoring, and updating her various components, and adding some amenities for the comfort of his fishing charters. The restoration was recently completed after countless hours of sanding, finishing and varnishing. She has a yellow cedar hull, fir decks, and a mahogany interior. Power is supplied by a Volvo Penta MD 70B diesel engine with approximately 120 hp. Other onboard equipment includes a diesel stove, a 110 volt AC heater, VHF and CB radios, Sitec Autopilot, 16 mile radar, a JMC Color Sounder, and a Foruno black and white sounder. There are two bunks in the bow, personal floatation devices for ten passengers, a galley, and a head. | ||||||||||
