The original SIDETRACK I was a 1963 Westcoast wooden ex-troller. It was bought and rebuilt with a passion and a design for charter fishing. It suited this purpose for nearly 20 years, but the cost of upkeep made it necessary to finally be replaced.

Finding a replacement vessel that kept the character, comfort, and romance of the old westcoast style was a tall order and the Ranger Tug R-25 'fit the bill'.

The R-25 has the sturdy hull design required for cruising the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Pacific Northwest. It was designed and built "for comfortable coastal cruising". With a full stand-up washroom, refrigerator, stove, galley, and a warm teak interior, it's not your typical charter fishing boat.

The cabin is outfitted with large panoramic windows and the cockpit is rebuilt and personally refitted to 'fish'. The overall length of the vessel is 28 ft. and its beam is 8'-6" wide..

Power is a quiet 150 HP Cummins supercharged diesel. It boasts two full steering stations complete with state of the art chart-plotter, GPS, depth sounder, and radar at both stations.

The Ranger Tug R-25 meets and surpasses all Canadian and International Safety and Stability requirements. It is US Coast Guard and Transport Canada certified.
